Vote for Homes Rally
Thursday, October 25, 1:00 pm at Dilworth Plaza, City Hall, NW Corner: Mayoral candidates Michael Nutter and Al Taubenberger will be presented with thousands of signed postcards urging them to act on housing, jobs, and services. Vote for Homes needs a huge showing of people to demonstrate to the candidates that they must address issues of homelessness and poverty in the next Administration.
Keep Kids Alive - Moms Against Guns
MOMS AGAINST GUNS is an advocacy campaign that asks PA lawmakers to adopt common sense gun laws to fight the deathly situation created by gun violence. Pennsylvania has one of the worst records for gun laws in the country, so please take the time to visit momsagainstguns.org and sign up. Moms Against Guns is working to get 50,000 signatures to convince PA state representatives and senators to call for stronger gun laws.
Professional Women’s Super Network Event

Young Women's Initiative Book Club

CHOICE's 7th Annual Cocktail Reception & Silent Auction
On Monday, November 12, 2007, CHOICE will host it’s 7th Annual Silent Charity Auction and Cocktail Reception at the Westin. This wildly popular silent auction will feature nearly 100 items from area vendors, unique raffle items, and fabulous food and wine. The event celebrates our 36 years of service to the Philadelphia region and the funds raised will allow CHOICE to continue to provide much needed education and referral services for the more than 50,000 individuals served each year. CHOICE will also present Councilwoman-at-Large Blondell Reynolds Brown with the Louis Gerstley, III, MD, Community Health Advocate Award for her tireless advocacy for the women and youth in the Philadelphia. 30th Anniversary of the National Women’s Conference in Houston
Join the National Women’s History Project on Tuesday, November 13, from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Institute for Women’s Leadership, Rutgers University, 162 Ryders Lane, New Brunswick, for a program to honor the New Jersey women who participated in the Houston conference and help educate younger women about this remarkable event and the ongoing struggle for women’s equality. The event includes a light buffet, presentations by Houston conference participants from New Jersey, and clips from the documentary film about the conference, Sisters of ’77. Young Women's Initiative Networking Cocktail Party - Save the Date!
Save Thursday, November 15 for a fabulous evening of networking, cocktails and jazz in the amazing setting of the Philadelphia Art Alliance on Rittenhouse Square! This is a networking and informational cocktail event where attendees meet like-minded young women, learn more about WOMEN'S WAY and the Young Women's Initiative and discover the many ways to get involved. Girls Share Their Voice
Thursday, November 15, 2007, from noon to 2:00 pm: Girls Share Their Voice is a comprehensive study of the current leadership needs of girls in South Jersey and how the Alice Paul Institute programs have addressed those needs over the past ten years. Harvey Finkle Photo Exhibition
Harvey Finkle, the photographer behind our anniversary photo book and exhibit, The Many Faces of WOMEN'S WAY, proudly announces another exhibit - The JOBS Project: A Reentry Program of the Philadelphia Prison System: Photographs and Interviews by Harvey Finkle. The exhibit runs from October 1 - January 1, 2008. The Opening Reception is on November 9, from 6-8 pm at the Free Library of Philadelphia, Main Branch, 19th and Vine Sts, Philadelphia. This work documents the lives of people while imprisoned and after discharge and participating in the activities of the JOBS Project.
